General information about Truskavets

TRUSKAVETS

Truskavets – is very charming town in West Ukraine (100km far from Lviv). It is situated in picturesque valley 350m above sea level, and is surrounded by hills and thereby there is special good micro-climate there – warm and modestly humid.
Truskavets is famous and very popular for its mineral springs, which made it one of the greatest resorts' zones in Ukraine. Most visitors are attracted to Truskavets by its various local waters which have health-giving qualities. The most famous is the sulfur-scented, slightly saline “Naftusia”. The town is situated in an amazing valley in the Carpathian foothills and is easily reached from Lviv by bus or train. Truskavets is popular among tourists from different countries.
In 2000 in Truskavets a special economic zone (SEZ) for the period of 20 years, known as "Kurortopolis Truskavets" was established; the SEZ offers various tax privileges for businesses and investors. Some 13 investment projects have been approved under its framework, with the majority focusing on health and medical treatment.

"Naftusya" is curative mineral water with unique medical health-giving properties, brought popularity to this city. It is mineralized hydrocarbonate calcium-magnesium mineral water with a high content of organic petroleum substances. Nowadays it is difficult to find water with the same medicinal effect. “Naftusya” promotes the removal of small stones from kidneys, gall-bladder, urinary and bile ducts, diminishes the danger of stone formation, normalizes the metabolism, especially the carbohydrate metabolism in patients suffering from diabetes, improves the activity of the alimentary tract and pancreas, restores liver cells and removes radionuclides and toxins from the body.
